True love
Love is not just
a strong sentiment or emotion toward the person
but it is more. More than you could ever know
Eschewing your life and love for the sake of
your parents and treating them with eulogium
is true love. Absolutely true love
Pacifying the berserk heart of a care-yearner
Sharing your cognizance with a new learner
Being your neighbour’s shoulder to boohoo on
Becoming a caryatid
for your family and friends
Gathering together for every joie de vivre and catatonia
Accepting a persons blemish
and helping them make it right
to live their life just like they wish
Reading books for little ones
Removing barriers that monkeywrench anyone’s path
Attending to your sibling’s sons
Killing awkward tunes of harmony of silence
Starting everything with a mile-wide smile
Checking on your ailing friend, once in a while
Understanding the feelings of people despite their fashion
Helping other people no matter what
All these are true love and true compassion
Being yourself, not pusillanimous
of others views would help you
realise true love. First, love yourself

There are many people these days who try to find true love. But, they do not love themselves and look for true love somewhere else when it is right under their noses. First, they must love themselves and be themselves and then true love shall emerge out of nowhere.
I dedicate this poem to Dad and Mom, who showered their endless love upon me and made me who I am today. I also dedicate this poem to Awrah, Amdhi, Aara and Sathvika for their love and support. I dedicate this poem to my Late Grandpa Rahmath Appa who loved me a lot. May the Almighty bless him. I also dedicate this poem to all my Maternal Relatives, blood or not because they always loved us without any discrimination. Thank you all. Not to forget, I dedicate this poem to all the readers of Teen Ink.
