Today is not the day.
“Today is not the day,” I say
I can’t do it.
Years of silent tears but it’s getting worse
It hurts.
Hurts so much I can’t breathe.
Or eat.
But I’ll lie cause I’m fine.
I’m not fine but I’m trying
I promise.
Today is just not the day
Neither was yesterday.
And tomorrow might not be either.

I was going through a hard time when I wrote this. "Today is not the day" is something I'll tell my friends and family if I'm going through something and they have drama going on as well. I usually know my own mental health limits and most of the people close to me understand that. I usually get through rough patches just fine but this one's been going on for a month now.
