Just best friends
Just best friends don’t cuddle
Or give subtle
Hints that they might have feelings
Don’t leave each other bleeding.
Heart bruised
Life on cruise
Control.
Control the way you act in front of him and his friends.
I bend rules
Do what my heart chooses
But your heart chose something else
Something I felt
You felt for her
Damn it’s such a blur
My thoughts whirl around my mind
"Just best friends" is a poem about a boy I met through my cousin at school. We became friends but then we became something weird and new to me. I heard from a few other people at school that there was this other girl he was talking to and I confronted him about it. He told me he and the other girl were best friends like he and I were. He knew how I felt about him, but he liked the other girl. After I put all the pieced together and talked to him about it again it hurt and the memories played through my head out of confusion
