It’s lovely to hear from you, after all this time.

I miss you. 
Ha! Isn’t that funny? I’ve never even met you. Maybe I’m romanticizing what shouldn’t be romanticized. Hopping to a hopeful hallucination. 
Then again, maybe I’m not. You aren’t what I envisioned. I’m okay with that; it wouldn’t be fun if you were predictable. Yet your mystery scares me more than I can contend with. More than the Present, and his own torments. 
Enough about me, though. How are you? Are you eating well? Sleeping well? Is the weather pleasantly warm? Is the sun gentle? 
It’s cold here. The rain never pauses for anyone. Even when it does, the clouds linger on the horizon. Patient predators for us prey. 
I’ve forgotten what the sun tastes like. I've forgotten what softness smells like.  
I’ve forgotten a lot over the years.  
I hope you remember.  
I hope it’s warmer wherever you are. I hope you become intimately familiar with Kindness and her complexities. I hope you have so many great stories to tell. 
I hope you tell me all about it when I get there.
