part 3: accecptance
i’ve accepted what you did to me
for several months you used me when it was convenient for you
then left when it wasn’t
when you left it felt like you took everything from me
you left me with nothing but confusion
but with each time you left it became more clear
that you were never going to change
and i had to move on
i really didn’t want to
but i had to
i no longer hope you’re going to come back
i no longer cry thinking about what you put me through
i no longer obsess over what i could of done better to make you stay
because the truth is
there was nothing i could of done
it’s just who you are
and now that i’ve moved on,
i’ve accepted that i never want to fall in love again

This is poem 3 out of 3. These poems represent the three stages of falling in love; Excitement, Ignorance & Insanity, and Acceptance. I was inspired to write these poems by my own personal experiences from love. Some may say that we are at too young of an age to fall in love, but that is simply not true. Love is a million different things. Whether it be love from a relationship, friend, or family member. Whether it be good or bad love. You can experience love at any age. In these three poems I am describing a toxic relationship, but the reader can interrupt them in any way that suits them. The possibilities are endless.
