Winter Is Here
Winter is here (Journal Entry #16)
The sad cries of the wind begin
The once bright green leaves on the tree now
On the ground dark, brown, shriveled, and wrinkled up
The once shining sun in the sky now a dark blank canvas
Cold, cloudy, and windy
The pool once filled with a family splashing in the glistening water
Now covered with a big blue tarp appearing empty and bare
The window that had a hot apple pie steaming out into the crisp warm air
Now shut, inclosed bare and covered in cold ice
The sidewalk once covered in dreams from children full of colors
Now covered in a sheet of thick snow
The yard once green with beautiful flowers of all colors like a rainbow on the ground
Now dead, bare, brown, and bright white snow
The road that once had children playing basketball
Now covered in gray slush and specks of salt among it
The dog once ran around happily in the yard
Now at the door shivering and whining to get back in
Then a snowflake and a few more soon a storm
The temperature drops as the ice begins and the schools cancel
I guess every negative has a positive
