darkness dipped in golden ink
license plate tagged 'city of dreams'
waltzing on marble floor like couples in love
until she realizes her shadows' alone
and the music is the speeding cars outside
coke bottles and red lips
still she sways her hips
in little Chanel pumps
and a baby doll dress
ready for the wedding of her wishes and reality
but who will turn the lights off
when her doll shoes fall out the window
and she's rage dressed as purity
pure like the scripture painted in future on her walls
the glamour groom to the truth,
beautiful angel bride all dressed in white
possibilities mirrored- heaven colored chemicals
so starved she sees rubies pouring out of her wrists
ready to die surrounded by riches
like the queen of New York City should
