Racing Hearts
The thunder roars,
The cheers erupt,
Grass tears,
As their feet soar.
“Boom!” The gun says,
Pounding feet,
Racing hearts,
Your neck to neck,
Run! Run! Run!
You take the medal,
You have won.
A job well done,
Now farewell,
To my racing heart,
Until another meet.
