Peasant Life
How many times will you break my heart?
Only as long as I give it back to you
How many times can you tear it apart?
Only as long as I love you
You keep ripping open arteries
and I'll keep taping the tears up
I hand it back and you squeeze
the blood drips and pools in your cup
You did not mean to be cruel
but peace doesn't come from crowns and jewels
none one dressed in the robes of a king
tries for kindness with the peasants they see
