The Summer Heat
It started out well -
Music, then friends
laughing in first period
and plans for the end of the school year
But it just kept getting better
talked about pretty girls in Biology class
finished my assignments
and started new ones
Art shows and malleable clay
And then it got a little worse
and I felt like a stupid outcast
transphobic **** people
always feel the need to broadcast
their opinions and their views
like it's breaking news
But I think it ended well
dry erase french words
grounders and pop flies
sore arms from far throws and batting wrong
baseball played a fall out boy song
I hung out with our pitcher and our catcher
I passed as a guy without even trying
My friend's mom gave me gatorade
and I finally met his girlfriend
Things just seem to go better
in the summer heat
