My Dearest Gran,

The dawn was devastating

And I literally have nothing to say

Because every part of it is excruciating

And I don't know how to express it anyway

How could you leave me

when I needed you the most?

But life ain't ours to keep it all and see

And I didn't even think that this quick you'd cost

All I want to hear right now,

Are some lovely words of inspiration

From you and only you. But the thing is, how?

'Cause you are no longer there in this entire nation

Now I'm writing this letter

With tears that smudge the words

'Cause I think that It'd make me feel better

Before I make myself feel guilty and much worse

Atleast I wish I could come,

To see you before I no longer can

But I can't, I know that it ain't wholesome

And still, for this exam, I've been such a partisan

I know that your dream

Was me acing all my tests

And I would fulfill it to the extreme

As I do hear you say from somewhere, "Do your best"

Love you forever and always,

Me

22nd May 2022 (My dearest Grandma passed away...)

I would never forget this day...I never thought that I would be writing this ever...Because tomorrow, my general exam begins and I've been studying hard these days...This dawn as I was up late studying and my Mom gets a call from her sister but she hangs up before she answered it...So, my Mom called her back and there was no answer...She had woken up for the call and now, my aunt who called didn't pick the phone so she was kind of frustrated and tensed because of it...And then, her brother called her...She answers the call and then, he asks if their sister called and my Mom says yes and says that she doesn't pick up the phone when she calls back...My uncle then asks her to cool down and tells her that she might have called her to tell her about the loss of a relative...And then, my Mom asks him about whose the death is, and then my uncle says, "Calm Down! It's Khaniz Aunty." And then tears fall out of her face and she cries while saying something which I could not pick out because I drifted to some other world then...

It was so shocking because she was all okay the days before...She didn't have any illness and it was utterly sudden...Yesterday or day before yesterday, she had even called my Maternal grandma and they had talked...Her birthday was on the 17th of this month and she's still in her late 60s...I thought that this was all just a nightmare but no, it was the dreadful reality...She left me...She left us all...I need her the most right now...I wanted to talk to her and hear her encouraging words before my exam...And the saddest part, is that I couldn't attend her funeral...

She wants me to ace this test and me passing this with flying colours is her dream...And I must fulfill it for her...That is the only thought that keeps my heart in organised right now...May the Almighty forgive all her sins and May her soul rest in peace...
