it seems hypocritical
to be struck by the injustice
that the world didn’t stop
november 23 2009
when my world seemed to hit a standstill
that the world continued
and still continues
its silent syncopated rotation
when i dont pause for more than a moment
when an ambulance rushs by
to acknowledge that someone’s world was just changed
but mine stays the same
before going along my way
just like everyone did when noah left
barely even noticing the void
where his light used to be
