Idealization
You are perfect
I see you only a few times
I yearn to see you more
I want you to recognize me
To get to know me
You may get angry when I bump into you
But that’s fine
You can do no wrong
For you are perfect
You isolated me when I was acting irrational
You put me in my place
You helped me understand
That was so kind of you
You are strong
You are intelligent beyond compare
You know best
Because you are perfect

I wrote this to show how I feel when I go overboard on a role model. I am not ashamed to say that I idealize the person and treat them as if they would never do anything to hurt me. Obviously, that’s false. We as teens in this world tend to feel this way about people and end up hurting ourselves more in the process.
