The golden birdie
Once upon a time,
There lived a golden birdie,
Trapped in a cage,
Wondering when thou shall be free,
Wings are clipped,
Feet are tied,
So the golden birdie sang and sang,
Waiting to abide the sun‘s rays.
Alas,
Did it never see the grotto of a lion,
Or to fly freely,
Abiding the sun‘s rays.
Thou stayed there for all her life,
Waiting and waiting to finally be free.
And one day her voice was gone,
Thee‘s melody was lost.
Prepared to be killed,
So she thought.
Instead she visited the grotto,
Thou chided her wings,
Across the ocean.
Yet She still sang,
Only one song.
Her song of freedom….
