Lonely
Have you ever been around people but alone?
Always seem to be on the outside looking in?
I have but I learn from what I see.
People wear masks of false smiles
Even I have several masks that I use.
They have walls around themselves
Protecting them from becoming like me
A whisper in the night
Someone forgettable
But there will come a day
When I will rise and be the only thing they remember.
Their walls will fall
And I will show them what I have seen
And maybe they will rise too
Maybe they won’t
But I will be more than a whisper
I will be a storm.

I am awkward around other people. I do not talk much with people who are not my friends, but if the conversation is about something I like I will talk. Because I do not talk, I feel I do not fit in with them though I also do not want to. This is what this poem is about.
