Tragedies
She was like writing
Hypnotizing
Engrossing
Composed of lovely words you never tired of
A beauty so mesmerizing
Her existence put Homer to shame
But people got so caught up in the book
They forgot we can write tragedies
And how sudden the plot can change
When authors decide to play God
It takes entire anthologies to write a character like her
But only a single line to destroy one
If people were modeled after protagonists
She was Juliet in her own right
Her melodious beginning led to a sorrowful end
So as the last page was read
They sat back and smiled fondly
Her story wasn’t a long one
But it was the best one they knew

I took inspiration from the poem "I Wish I Wrote the Way I Thought" by Benedict Smith for this piece, and I think I was able to put a creative twist to it.
