My Advice To You
sometimes you should be selfish
not just should
you have to be
to be selfish isn't always a bad thing
too much of anything can be bad though
and that includes selflessness
if you are one of the many who are so selfless that they self sabotage
this is my advice to you
start putting yourself first more often
you are still allowed to treat humans kindly
but dont forget that you too are a human
who deserves the same dignity as any other living, breathing being
start expecting that your emotions will change
and accept that
you are human
expect that clouds will roll through, lighting will strike
but also expect that rainbows will appear
expect sunny days in the sand but also expect tsunamis
there is no making the weather go away
it is here to stay
the bad isnt going to leave forever
but neither is the good
and when the clouds let go
if youd like too
make the most of what makes earth home
and dance
Hello! My name is Asher. I'm a fourteen-year-old poet. I've struggled with mental health most of my life, so it's one of my main sources of inspiration for both my songs and my poetry. I've spent most of my life thriving off of creativity, even during the first few years of my life. Funfact: I have a video of me singing twinkle twinkle little star at about four years old. Ten years ago, that's a long time.
Anyways, that's about all I'm gonna share for now, thank you for reading!
