“My Next Adventure”
I was almost born in a pickup truck, moving rapidly on a cold December night
I ran over my hand while sledding, gifting myself my first and only broken bone
I love sharing and making my friends smile
I have been roasted by the sun, on boat days that I wish never ended
I’ve slept on a squishy couch in my sister's first college apartment
I tell you sincerely I will always be a dog person
I have bought flowy tank tops at country stores in Tennessee
I’ve heard laughter so hearty it caused the porch to shake
I’m waiting for the day I can own a big house
I’ve danced in crowded rooms with forever friends
I could tell stories from midnights in small towns
I felt the sting of a jellyfish wrapped around my knee
I’ve heard compliments and criticism, advice and apologies
I want to travel to as many countries as I can
I never stop planning my next adventure
