Awkward Moments
The awkward moment,
When you think someone’s waving at you,
So you wave back,
But it was a mistake,
As they were waving to the person behind you.
The awkward moment,
When someone says your name wrong,
The first time you meet,
And they pronounce it wrong,
For the rest of your life.
The awkward moment,
When you achieve 1000 followers on a site,
But you lose a follower,
So after a second of joy,
You’re down to 999 followers.
The awkward moment,
When you say ‘bye’ to someone beside you,
When you say farewell to someone,
Thinking that you’ll part ways,
But you’re still walking in the same direction as them.
The awkward moment,
When everyone expects your piece to be good,
So even when you write something not up to your full potential,
They think your piece is deep and meaningful,
As if it’s something that they won’t be able to understand.
The awkward moment,
When you realize that nothing’s truly awkward,
As they were never,
Never will be,
And never plans to be awkward.
