but poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

never had i been one of many words

yet here i sit, silently,

the rhythm of pen to paper lulling me to bed

which, in all honesty, seems welcoming --

to escape the turmoil

the painful memories written on paper

tear-soaked and wrinkled with anger

but love was never smooth and beautiful, was it?

the valleys could never compare to the mountain-tops

when we could see the world and hold it in our hands;

when you brought in a new world

and we could hold her in our hands.

she has left for the larger world now, after you…

like a bird flying from our perfectly prepared nest

she's changed

i have now, too --

How Could You Not?

your address, the same. i'll send this out to our mailbox

i hope you'll read this and think of me.

i miss you

always.
