and we can get old
like at least mid twenties
if you say that's young,
i'll just kiss you in the kitchen
i was so close to forever fifteen and
when you've been tasting death
since the ripe old age of nine
twenty six is your aged prime
so we can buy tomatoes
and lemons if you want
and i can go to sleep
with the knowledge that
in the morning, i'll wake up
and if you kiss me on the counter
and dance with me in the rain
i'll write your name in poems;
feel your sunshine on my skin
