Dig a hole.

Bury the little bud whole.

Leave no roots exposed,

Let every crevice be closed.

Through winter, the bulbs will sleep

In spring, they sprout from the deep.

  Animals may nibble on them,

But strong leaves protect the flowered gems.

Two months of bloom--rejuvenation

Times are ever so full of relaxation.

Beautiful as ever, colors so bright!

Lush abundance of light.

The plants live on.

The bulbs sleep under a thick blanket of snow.

Then summer breezes away on gentle winds.

Their defense against unforgiving winter--their own skin.

Awake, the bulbs dance and the birds sing.

Colorful bulbs from the ground spring

The stems wiggle into the sunlight.

Buds bloom, what a wonderful sight!
