Treasured Flute
Metal rod, rust-covered keys,
Tarnished with fingerprints,
And blackened grease.
An old comrade from my younger days.
It was he who taught me the joy of inner peace.
It was he who brought me honor and praise.
An ironclad that echoes my sound,
That embodies the passion of my heart.
Reflections of my voice abound.
The memories of this old flute,
Resounding in the new Traversiere,
As the worn-out flute goes unheard.
Its music will never die out,
And neither will
My love for this treasured flute.
