Ancient Love
I wish to be a butterfly with mummified wings
living under the burial ground of ancient Egypt.
Immersing myself in overwhelming senses of --
corpses talking
ashes flying
bones strolling.
Letting my mind wander
Treasuring the peaceful loneliness
Everything is a possibility once the world stops.
I would be wrapped in dirty white bandages,
and misplaced in a coffin next to the Pharaoh.
We would fall in love.
when the world
deems we are half the world away,
we will fall in love.
even if we are half the world away,
we will fall in love.
I chase this kind of love—
colloquial yet hopeless,
romantic yet silent.
we will fall in love.
