Without You
My whole life changed
But yours has just begun
Coming home
Ready to tell you about my day
Only to find a vacant room
The only things left lingering
Are promises
Promises that you will call
Promises that we will still talk
But it’s been a month
And the only thing I’ve gotten
Is an “I’m busy”
I know I shoudln’t feel this way
It’s not fair to blame you
Just for molding your future
And getting an education
But I can’t help but miss
Our talks about things
We would never tell anybody else
And you driving me around
While we sing songs fom our childhood
And laugh about things
Only we would understand
And I’m sure you’re out
Making new friends
And while you’re living
Your new and improved life
This is what I think about
Because you were my best friend
The only person I could tell everything
But I didn’t realize that
Until you were gone
So now I sit here
Thinking about you
While you aren’t thinking about me
