It Was Rare
In the depths of this love, so tender and pure,
We found comfort in our love that slowly endured.
But alas, my dear, it wasn’t meant to be,
For our paths have diverged, and I must set you free.
It was rare, our love we deeply shared,
A bond so strong, I thought I was prepared.
But life has its twists and turns, my beloved,
And sometimes we’re forced to rise above it.
Like shooting stars that briefly grace the sky,
Our love burned bright, but now it’s time to say goodbye.
Though my heart aches, as my tears flow,
I need to accept that I must let you go.
In the dark, with cold rain hitting my face,
You told me what you did and I started to pace.
It was rare, this love we had,
Until you broke my trust, with the girl in the black.
In the park, sitting on the swings,
I cried and cried, until my heart began to bleed.
But fate has spoken, and now we part ways,
Leaving behind the memories of brighter days.
But help me understand how you could do this to me,
Was I not enough, for you to be happy?
For, in the end, I know my heart was true,
I just wish that yours was too.
As we go our separate ways,
I hope happiness finds you, even on your bad days.
Though we no longer walk hand in hand,
You will always hold a special place in my heart’s land.
