THE NIGHT
The daylight ebbs away
And the twilight sheds into midnight.
Moonlight caresses the dark
The lustrous stars arise, there to guide.
Spread across the dark, like fireflies in the ebon sky.
The oceans ascent, setting an aquatic recital
And the tides go high and low,
The waves sing a serenade, enchanting the life.
The breeze is sweet and swift,
Fondling everything past it’s way
The enlightened moon, turns the trees into silhouettes.
Bare rocks moonlit
Like an ephemeral painting come to life
As if a spectral presence in life.

I have written this poem inspired by the beauty of night and how gracefully the scenery changes from day to night.
