Flat coke.
There’s been that day
When your coke goes flat,
You leave your soda long enough
to lose its carbonation.
When you can’t move,
Or shower,
Or sleep,
Or eat,
Or be a person for a bit.
And admittedly, a body is hard to take care of.
But it’s also quite the gift.
It’s the eyes others talk to,
The mouth he kisses,
The purpose of a mirror.
Flat coke.
