Echoes of Panic
I was awakened by the sound of sirens blaring into my ears
I was lost and scared, not knowing what to do, I feared.
The acrid smell filled the room as I struggled for air
Slowly suffocated as the thick black smoke encased my lungs; this was it as I was aware.
I tried to run, but I couldn’t move, as though I was trapped
There was no way out, and that was a fact.
I crawled up into a corner trembling with fright, it was unbearable,
the only thing that could save me was a miracle.
Lights flashing everywhere blinding me,
no matter how much I pleaded, I could never be free.
