Tapestry
All these colors
Form the palette of my world
Red, green, and violet
Coalescing in a blinding swirl
My friends are a youthful blue
Laced with misty white
So many things in view
Not a possibility out of sight
My mother is terracotta brown
Cobbled with gray rock
And however I may fall down
She is a constant, my only dock
Strangers are candy yellow and pink
Butterflies floating about with ease
Their wingbeats catch the breeze
Without the worry that they’ll sink
So many colors
Weave the tapestry of life
A rich brocade of rainbows
Without a trace of me
