The River
I look above,
I see the sky.
I see the clouds.
I see the sun.
Life continues,
in its humble simplicity.
It does not ponder.
It does not stall.
Like a river it flows.
Like a river it changes.
A river can save.
A river can drown.
A river can heal.
A river can hurt.
A river can carry things to you.
A river can take them away.
We are stuck in the flow of that river.
It carries us.
If we put up a dam,
it will fall, and flood.
If we clutch the stones on the side,
they will cut us,
we may drown.
We will learn the wisdom of the river,
or we will be victims of the stones.
There will come a day,
When the river will empty out
into the ocean,
for that reason, I bid you avoid the stones.
