A dim candle
A dim candle.
A candle that slowly dies down
A candle that cannot be lit again
You try to keep trying to keep the candle from turning to ash
You can try to keep the candle lit
But you will slowly realize that you cannot keep the candle lit forever
You try and try and try but your realization turns into sorrow
A candle will eventually melt and melt and dim down but it will eventually die down. And turn into nothing but ash and smoke.
You try to keep the candle lit and you say “but I love this candle. It’s my favorite candle. I can’t let it go….”
You can’t let it go but you know you have to in order to heal
In order to feel again.
The candle will forever be ash and smoke blowing into the wind.
And then into the trash it goes.
It’s isn’t about a candle.
A dim candle.

My name is Brielle B. and I wrote this poem from scratch. I’m 14 and I write poems to get things off of my chest and it helps me get better as a writer. I wrote this poem for people to learn to heal and let go of things that might be hard for them. This poem could be about many things depending on how you take it.
