Things I Wish I Didn't Have To Say.
These things I wish I didn't have to say
But you've always gotten in my way
You're the one who gave me trust issues
I should have paid attention to those obvious clues
I thought we could work
But it turns out you're just a jerk.
I hate to give any credit to you
But whenever I see you those moments are cued
Us back in that stupid 8th-grade class
And then I see myself shatter just like glass
Back when everyone thought we were cute
God how I wish I could have pressed mute.
People say "Oh you were too young"
but really, it still stung.
People say "You're just a dumb blonde"
but they still don't see how I was getting conned.
People say a lot of things
but only I see those moments he would bring.
Now when I see you I know I've evolved
Although some problems haven't been solved
Now the only thing I see
Is how great I can be
Because of the moment I realized
I don't need you.

This piece was inspired by a boy who shattered me, and how I glued myself back together.
