Mine
I come to bury him
Not to praise him
I sharpen my dagger
To kill him in his love
So we can stay this way forever
I need us to stay this way forever
I need my love to live
I need thy love to live
I need thee to die
So that I may live
Sever thy chest
Open thy body to me
Carve my name into thy rib
That I may fill my rightful place
As thy mate in soul and body
In Heaven
In the eyes of God, glory be
I adore thee
Pure, besotted, rid of agony
In Hell
Where God alone hears my screams
I offer thee my self
Pained as I may be
In thy grave
In the dirt where hearts go to rot
I give thee mine
So thine is not forgot
I come to bury thee
Not to praise thee
Sweet nothings mean nothing
In the eyes of eternity
In my eyes, thou art life
In my soul, thou art sustenance
Til death do us part
I’ve heard these lies
Even in death
Thou art mine

Grappling with the complexities between life and death, love and loss. Faced with inevitable mortality, this poem offers an innovative perspective, suggesting that true love knows no physical realm, that obsession and devotion--nearing masochism-- will live on even in death.
