A striking pelt of sunset gold

The world around it trapped within

The foxes fur holds a sight

A red flash of a cardinals wing

fear taking flight in the winter air

The foxes fur holds a sound

A frigid stream

water trampling over tired stones

The foxes fur holds a taste

A rabbits blood, the remains of the body lying in the brush

The foxes fur holds a touch

The cold kiss of a snowflake

wrestled loose from a towering pine

The foxes fur holds a smell

A rivals markings upon a tree

the scent of ancient competition

The forest stares on at the fox

It’s reflection trapped in a pelt of sunset gold

This is a poem practicing descriptive imagery and I incorporated a few metaphors into the poem as well.
