You see that thing over there?
The one in the corner?
Yes, that one -
The one that's bossing people around -
As if she even deserves to be here -
That's the sub.
The horible, aweful thing
That the school board sent to us.
Do you know -
Does anybody know? -
Why they're punishing us?
What did we do?
WE're sorry,
We really are!
Please, please,
Just take it away!
Stop torturing us -
We didn't do anything
And we're sorry!
So sorry,
So sorry,
So sorry!
Please forgive us
And take this aweful creature away,
Away!

The author's comments:
This is one of my less emotional pieces. I remember quite clearly when I wrote it, though it was a couple years ago. We had this sub that was quite unnecessarily grouchy and I didn't feel like doing her outrageous work so I wrote this poem instead. Hope you enjoy it!
