Poetry Is Dead
poetry is dead, you see
now just a mark in history,
from an era when we took
the time
to twist our words and
make them rhyme
to paint a picture in
one's head
of love, depression,
anger, death
anything that we may feel,
what people can relate to,
words that heal
like a song on repeat
inside our heads
we don't feel so alone,
we feel better instead
knowing we're connected with
someone out there
the emotion, passion,
ambition we share
as I sit here and type
this out I think
of all the others just
like me; filling pages
with ink, or our
computer's memories
the new generation, the
writing sensations
pushing the envolope,
stretching and changing
the limits
creating through imitation
and alot of imagination
and I know that it's different
we'll continue to evolve
new problems, situations,
whatever we're facing
keep on writing it out
for the world to see
keep on speaking your mind,
your opinion; make history
keep holding on to your
inspirations, twirling those
words into something
fantastic to read
because now I'm sure-
poetry's not dead!
