Fatal Possibilities
There’s a phantom in the corner,
And a shadow in the hall.
All impending reminders,
Of your possible downfall.
Somehow you’re gotten this far,
And you’ve discovered you are.
You are a passionate entity,
With your own symbolic identity.
You have found your reason for being,
Your reason for breathing.
It’s as true in the love in your core,
And opportunities are breaking down the door.
The universe that you’ve created is yours entirely,
And nobody dares utter it differently.
The ring on your finger is that obsession,
That this is your total possession.
You’ve created their smiles, their names, their lives, their loves…
And yet this isn’t enough.
There’s still that misgiving,
That you won’t end up winning.
Your fingers keep clicking on the keys,
And the moon keeps shining through the trees.
The moments are ticking, flying off the radar,
And the words are coming fast and hard.
Yet at the end of the day, you lie awake,
Wondering how much devastation your soul can take.
This has been lulling your world into a whirlwind,
You don’t know where to begin.
This is your insurrection,
Filled with your shallow soul’s ruin.
Your blood is simmering, and your stomach is in ropes,
And your eyes are reflecting suspended ghosts.
The fatal possibilities are working their way into your head,
And there’s that murderous dread.
Yet you keep your head high,
Banishing those traitors to just die die die.
You will do what your heart demands,
Ceding to the commands.
Let fate take the wheel,
Sit back, and simply feel…
