I see
you,
walking home from work
wearing high-class
suits,
and raw silk blouses
you sit on the metro
real straight -
rigid, so that less
of your body
touches the seat
And you open your
designer bag
peak inside -
and yes, it's still there,
and today,
it's champagne,
the most expensive you can
get, imported from
France -
(family heirloom you say
but you're irish - you don't
get
to choose.)
But that's just to cover
the bottle of cheap
whiskey
that you'll be drinking
when you get home
