The haunting memories of war,
Swim around this alley like a tide.
Gleaming light reflects off the shards of metal,
Left to stay forever.
Harsh footprints brightened.
By the silver essence of nighttime.
The cold night air creates a layer of frost,
Around a bullet encrusted into the brick.
An abandoned teddy bear on the dirt.
In its small beady eyes lives the darkness.
The toy gazes into the starry night.
He wonders if one day,
He could escape from the darkness.
The moon will soon fall,
Like leaves in autumn,
And dawn will come again.
