Favorite Quote:
&quot; You may know the mechanics of how something works, but that does not make it any less of a miracle&quot; <br /> -Bill Compton, Tru Blood

The kings of old would kill even a queen
They sent bloody Mary to the guillotine
Prisoners were obviously depressed
For example Giles Corey, for his being pressed
They may even, if the bell rang
Let your dead body, swing back, forth and hang
A punishment that really does rock
Is being pinned like cattle in the square in the stocks
For crimes that kings thought very fetching
One might be subjected to pain and to stretching
This was rare, because it was honestly a task
Leo DiCaprio, for example, wore a mask
When truly deserved it might be ordered
That you were to be tied up, stretched out and quartered.
This is my favorite, it is the end of them
Them being all those who were sentenced to the pendulum

I wrote this because of a poetry club meeting one Thursday during lunch during freshman year.
