The Fire
October 15, 2009
I look at the many men around me,
Training and learning,
To be destructive and burning,
A nightmare is what we’ll be,
We are learning to make fire,
They take us to the battle place,
We are low on food and drink,
We need a stove and a sink,
We don’t even fight we sit at base,
We are learning to make fire,
We finally come home,
She prayed for me,
Her face is all I see,
For a while we were alone,
But now,
We are learning to make fire again
