Simple Safe Feeling
Safe simple feeling of
"I want to wake up
in your arms,
naked skin
swishing against
naked skin.
I want to be
half conscious
of early sunrise morning sky
beyond our dark curtains
before drifting back to sleep
on your chest, in your heartbeat.
I never want to be old
or do commonplace things
that have no soul
to whisper me poetry.
I never want to come down
from this plane
where everything is a perfumed symphony
of colorful emotion,
and everything is words, words, words
trickling themselves down into the perfect lines,
where I call them poetry
and give them to you
on paper, on skin,
by mouth, by hand.
And you know that this
is what's shaking the ocean out ~
I give you my heart
I give it to you in my words."
