Little Girl Crying
Everyone ignores the little girl crying.
What can you do.
You can’t bring him back.
You can’t look at her, tears streaking her face.
She doesn’t understand, and who are you to explain.
The miracle of life and the tragedy of death.
Some day she had to discover real pain.
Buy why must she be so young.
Her innocence gone, replaced by grief.
So confused she looks to her brother.
He sits in a corner alone.
He shows no emotion and she wouldn’t learn until later he was dying inside.
The little girl glares angrily.
Why did he get to know him longer.
How can he be sad he had so much more time with him.
Years pass and that now big girl still cries.
Only now she cries on the inside so no one can see.
Big brother has taught her well on how to conceal pain.
Only now she sees his blank face for what it is.
His constant pain of grief held in.
His anger builds but he won’t let it show.
He keeps his pain secret, tries to act strong.
But little sister knows that something is very wrong.
