I didn't love him anyway
The sun warms my skin
As I watch him. I smiled
At him through my weary
Eyes. I never could tell if
A person could love me. So
I starred at him taking a chance.
I mustarded up some strength
And called up some hope and
Went to him. I told him I liked
But he just laughed. I didn’t
Cry when he walked away.
I stood still and screamed
In my head. I sat down against
The tree’s trunk and thought,
“I didn’t love him anyway.”
