A Little Cave
The soft whisper of the wind somehow carries warmth to my body
The crunching of fresh fallen leaves under my feet emphasizes every step I take
The cloudy sky above me shields me
The faded memories of summer long gone…
Fall is here and it brings clarity to my mind
Clarity is what I have seemed to be lacking for some time
A small raindrop falls on my snow white cheek
It slowly goes down my cheek, finally resting on the crevice of my neck
I pick up speed
The sound of leaves getting louder then it disappears
The leaves are wet and damp
The soft whisper of the wind has stopped
And the once cloudy sky now looks enraged
I see the dim light coming from the window in my house
My escape when this “escape” decides to wash the earth
I hear the humming of the rain falling down
And think
“I feel so safe in my little cave”
