Life is Paths
Life is paths with colorful walls
And glowing frosted windows
That shine with opportunity
Innumerable parallel corridors
Converging on the horizon
On each path one person moving forward, looking up
At the high colorful walls
And the glowing frosted windows
That mark the way
And maybe once, twice, three times
A hole or door high up in the wall
That those who follow their eyes
May cross through the thick colorful walls
And see the glowing frosted windows from a different place
And as the untold masses filter down their lanes
Walking
Running
Crawling
Dancing
Each person will gaze at the colorful walls
And the glowing frosted windows
And wonder what it is like on the other side
And maybe someone who climbs to a door
Will carve steps into the colorful walls
Because they can see through the glowing frosted windows
See that they are never alone
