Our Heroes
Just chance who dies
Side by side they went out
Unknowing of who would survive
Leaving in their hundreds
Almost suicide
Men crying, screaming
Begging God for mercy
But He just walks by
Ignorant of those in pain
They just want to die
Others at home
Unaware
Of what the courageous are facing
Of what it's like to watch
A friend die in such a way
As they wait in the trenches
For the bombs to stop
Waiting for the peace that shall not come
As they go out
Side by side, to die
For nothing it may be
But they are our heroes
