All aboard!
His flight of fancy...
A tantalising trek:
Towering mountains
of taste and texture;
That unique breeze,
intoxicating the most frigid nose
And finally -
The vast dessert plains.
Encompassed in crockery.

Cartilage bonds snap.
That writhing lump
in your anxious throat
clambers, with your heart,
into your cavernous mouth.
The clink of cutlery.
A chequered flag falls.
Tongues dance,
Teeth tear.
Silence devours the diners.

The flag falls again,
The bloated silence bursts,
The apothecary is barren once more.
The Saucerer emerges,
squeezing through
the thick crowd of smoke.
Pots, pans, herbs and spices -
wounded, depleted. Yet loyal.
Stand dutifully to attention
As he admires the debris.

Written for a good friend of mine, who I consider to be something of a gastronomic genius!

ohh wow, I really really loved that. Incidentally, I couldn't help noticing you're a fun lovin' criminals fan... now are they a seriously underrated band or what?!
