I'm a romantic at heart.
I dream of being another
Elizabeth Bennet,
Emma Woodhouse,
Jane Eyre,
or even Cathy Linton.
I really could care less about
The fantastical love
Of Bella and Edward.
But I couldn't happier
If you set me down
In Regency England,
Where love was sophisticated,
The people elegant, polite, and intelligent,
And happy endings ruled.
I'm a romantic at heart.

its the author. i love this poem, but its not one of my best. but i do think that classical love stories are, for the most part, better than modern romances. if you haven't, you should really read pride and prejudice, emma, jane eyre, and wuthering heights!
